I have a red dot mounted on my urban 16. Looks like I'm years behind, the popular flavor seems to be reflex/aimpoint type. What do they give me I don't have with the red dot?

Most red dots of all quality perform the same function.
How WELL they do it is another story.
Mount whatever you want - but remember: there are optics, and there a good optics.
