I just purchased M16 BCG from Young MFG, but was disappointed that the bottom rails of the carrier are only 1\2 the width of my Colt carrier rails. Can this cause wear problems with my upper?

I like the easy cleaning that I read in other threads but do not want to risk a Colt upper to save time cleaning.

I tried several searches and did not find an answer to this question .

I compared the bottom rails on my Colt M16 BC to my Young M16 NM and though slightly narrower the Young is no where close to only half the width.  I run my BCG very "wet" and see no signs of wear inside the upper.

I guess it was just an optical illusion of the chrome on the Young carrier. I measured the width of it and my colt and found this.

Colt rail = .120
Young rail = .092

Could anyone post a picture of the stakes on their Young BCG?

If you received your bcg from Young, no stake or very light.  The various venders who carry the young bcg usually stake them.
