For you folks that own them, what kind of accuracy can be expected from this model? I have a 20" Hbar. 1/9 twist It is not a minute of angle rifle. however with match grade ammo you can get close to 1" groups at 100yds. Thats also using an optic. If you reload you may be able to develop a round thats shoots even better. 69 gn bullets Sierra match kings I found shoot the best |

My Bushy H-bar was about the same, 2" or less with most ball , 1 1/4 with some select lots , about 1" 10 shot groups with Win 45gr Varmint . I sold it to a friend because it was too heavy for me and it still shoots well for him . (of course right after I sold it I tried service rifle and ran out and bought a RRNM rifle that is heavier yet!)
The 45 grain load shouldn't be a top load in a 1/9 but all my bushy's shoot it about as good as anything else. Funny thing is I had a Bushy special varmint that shot not quite as good as the H-bar. I bought it used so who knows what was going on with it . It still was a decent shooter but when I bought it I expected the stainless free float barrel and a Bushy competition trigger to shoot rings around a chrome lined h-bar with a RRNM trigger. All my factory standard Bushy triggers were a bit rough and tough to shoot groups with , most or my guns have the RRNM setup |

A2 Dissy with 16" HBAR (1:9 twist) shoots better than 1.5 MOA using optic sights, sandbag rests. The Dissy uses a Hogue free-float, Using 69 grain Sierra Match King bullets (I reload). 16" LMT MRP CQB (1:7 twist) doesn't do much better under the same conditions (similar optic, sand bag rests, similar ammo, etc.)
That being said, the Bushy 16" ultralight barrel also shoots to the same accuracy. Go figure... EDIT: Best accuracy improvement on Bushy was change-out of the creepy, stock trigger. Factory installed Bushy 2-stage NM triggers are good. Drop-in single stage Chip McCormick ultra-match and drop-in Timneys are even better but cost more $$. It's tough to shoot accurately if you have a creepy trigger... (Note - the LMT MRP CQB had a Defender lower with factory 2-stage NM trigger) Live Free or Die! |
