I am having trouble keeping my Jewell in tune. Reliability has caused me two missed opportunities while hunting/calling coyotes. Very frustrating.
My trigger was installed professionally by John Noveske, of Noveske Rifleworks, in 2005. I talked to him this morning and he said they stopped selling/installing them two years ago after he was experiencing the same issues. Soooo... What will it be? A Geiselle? A Timney? I don't particularly like the price fixing strategy of the Geiselle company. The Timney looks like a pretty nice setup. Has anyone used one yet? http://www.timneytriggers.com/sunshop/catalog/AR-14-1.html http://www.timneytriggers.com/sunshop/images/products/AR-10%20website%20image.jpg First hand experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! P.S. This is the rig it is going in: http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/CertainDeath-1.jpg |

Thanks for the responses. I forgot to mention that a 3 lb trigger would be my upper limit. Reason being, I still like to do some range work/load development with the bigger 6.5-20x50mm Conquest and nice crisp light trigger with little creep and a consistent let-off is important. But for most hunting (besides shooting prairie dogs & ground squirrels) the rifle wears a 3-9X50mm Conquest. Thanks again. |

Geiselle for the ultimate. Timney for ease of install. Sorta of agree. They are two seperate beasts all together. If you want a two stage go with the Geiselle. If you want a single stage go with the Timney. I had a Timney and I loved it. But I sold it for a two stage since this is my precision rig. Both are great triggers and I don't think you'll go wrong with either. |

My Timneys have both developed a problem with failing to reset properly. That problem is fixable with adjustment, but I don't know if or when it will reappear.
The Timney is without a doubt the nicest feeling single stage I've tried, but I can't consider it completely reliable. I'd go with the Geissele if I were you, especially considering what caused you to look into a change. |

There are some great comments and experience on here. Thanks. I really appreciate it!
Price Fixing- It is my understanding that the owners of Geiselle triggers came down on Fulton Armory at the Camp Perry shoot for having a "sale" on their triggers. After a short period of discounted sales, they were forced to mark them back up to $279. That's just what I heard second-hand. |
| I have a Geiselle and a Timney in use in different rifles now. The Timney had the best feel of any trigger I had ever used, until I got the Geiselle. I do not think you can go wrong with either choice. The Timney costs a little less and is easier to install. The Geiselle National Match 2-stage has more user adjustments available (weight of each stage, travel length). If cost does not matter, go with the Geiselle. Otherwise purchase the Timney and you will have a great trigger. |
