Do they sell good stuff that's made in America, or atleast not in China?  I've been looking for a detachable carry handle, and they sell one for $40 with a lifetime warranty.  If it's pretty good, I think I'll buy it, if it's crap, I'll spend $80 and get a Rock River.  Thanks.

TAPCO and CAA would never make it onto my rifle...if you want a carry handle, check the EE..they are on there all the time...

Oh, so they're like TAPCO?  Fuck that then.  Rock River for me.

I wouldn't buy a carry handle that doesn't have a known forge marking.

As far as I'm concerned, CAA is a little better than Tapco.  CAA used to be made in Israel, or maybe still is.  I had one of their stocks and really liked it.  I wouldn't have a problem with putting certain CAA parts on my weapon.  But a carry handle is not one of them.

IME it's hit and miss with CAA.

I really like my G27 grip. Their six position stock seemed nice too even if it was a little on the heavy side. Their mag coupler also seems nice.

Other stuff looks and feels like junk to me.

I think it goes like this for aftermarket AR-15 plastic furniture:

Leapers UTG < Tapco < CAA < Magpul

I have several of their items as well and like them all. I do not have any experience with the carry handle however. I have the stock on 2 of my AR's and those also have their grips as well.

I believe it to be 50/50 with CAA. 50% are people who actually have owned something from CAA and 50% are ones who have never owned anything from CAA and who are simply passing along nonsense they have heard. Take it from people who have actually had something in hand before you make an informed decision. I as it is, have never owned anything from CAA so I cannot advise.

I have a CAA stock and grip on each of my AR15's and I wouldnt pick another settup as far as the stock goess..I have one of there quad rails on one of my AR's untill i can find something that suits me better.

I wouldnt turn my nose up at most of there products..i cant speak for all of them but I like what iv seen so far.. im in need of a rear buis for my AR I just built ,so i may get there carry handle just to try it out =] i dont mind testing products and dont normally bash products unless i have had problems with them first hand.

Pictures.
my P-415 with a RRA lower fitted with there products.

i was alittle worried about the peice that locks the little battery door shut but it has proven stronger then I first thought.

havnt gotten the pistol grip for this one yet but its fitted with there stock, buffer tube and quad rail

dont mind the remotes =] its an inside joke for the guys on another forum =]

CAA - They see somebody else made a weapon product and it is a big seller, so they will make a duplicate with cheaper materials for a lower price and then sell it to those who dont want to pay full price...look at their Cmag for instance...

That's what keeps some prices down and gives people choices. The Chinese have done this for many years. Before they got into the mfg. of tools, someone wanting a vise had to pay $100+ for a quality 5" vice or if they wanted a s ton steel floor jack they paid $250+ I bought a 5" vice for $23 and a 3 ton steel floor jack for $39 both at Harbor Freight.

Since I don't use them for making my living they work great for me.

or their interchangeable backstrip grip
or their grip pod

i hate CAA, they are local to me, and i've seen every iteration of their crap... TDI, CAA, Fobus, First Samco, etc etc...

if you like cheap stupid gear... like a cheekrest that blocks your charging handle, or a G27 grip that prevents the installation of single point sling attachment points, etc, go for it!

as for me, i'll pass...

First I would like to say I have used most stuff from CAA to COLT. As mentioned above some CAA items I would use and some I wouldn't. I like their cheek saddle, and light mount compared to some of the alternatives. For the carry handle, I would go with the RRA though. don't get caught up with the hype on this forum, half of the people here will never use their gear off of the range anyway. get what works and put the rest of your money into ammo.

Me too. It has been fine, and I find it more comfortable than the M4 stock.

That said, I think it is pretty ugly, as is most of their stuff. It could do without the big CAA logo and the "ribs" molded int it. But, as always, function over asthetics.

+1 for hit and miss. Depends upon the item. As for the carrying handle, yes. I'd +1 for a quality unit like the RRA's or comparable.

I've been satisfied with the CAA stocks. They were priced $56.- for the longest time at Midway _with_ the buffer tube and springs. Sadly last time I ordered, they probably finally discovered their pricing error and jacked it up to $90.-

What's the joke with the REMOTES??? Share the funnies

Same here , My plain one works fine for the $20 I paid for it.  Not wild about the big CAA on it.  I've seen one where a guy sanded it off and grit blasted it and it looked great,   Wish they would offer them w/o the stupid Logo.

I had the CAA M4 stock and loved it.  It was slightly heavier than a standard M4 stock.  But was also tighter than any other standard M4 stock I've owned as far as no play or rattle.  I would buy another one.

some of that weight can be removed by removing the battery storage area and rail, if you are not using them.

Complaining about the CAA logo.. sheesh..

Sounds like ya'll have never heard of a dremel tool! heheh really tho, 40 bucks new at wallycheese, I highly suggest one..

To me the biggest complaint I have with the CAA CBS stock is that it rattles on the last setting which is where I'm most comfortable holding the rifle. That and the cheek weld blocks the charging handle when its up. Stupid design, really. I thought it looked cool, but for 64 bucks, I guess ya get whatcha pay for.

Thinking of returning the CAA stuff, and getting a magpul stock. Even the Magpul MOE would be better, nary as I can tell from the sound of things on this thread.

I have the carry handle.  Paid $28.00 for it.

It's ok.  Yes, ok.  For the range, it works and seems nice and tight.  If you just want a backup carry handle, it's gtg.

Since I've decided that I'll probably keep my 20" in irons configuration, I'll most likely buy a RRA or Bushy handle.

But for what it is, it works fine and doesn't look bad.

I just dont understand some of the comparisons on these boards. I currently dont have any CAA products on my gun, although I am currently in the process of buying their 4 rail handguard from the EE.  I contemplated the CAA CBS stock but I went with Magpul.  I guess we will see with the handguard when it comes.

As for Fobus, whats wrong with them?  I have a Fobus holster for my XD40 and it works great and is comfortable. I only use it when I go to the range, I dont wear it daily or for concealed carry but for what I use it for its great.

I love my stock saddle. For $20-$25 you cant go wrong. I will agree that I am not a fan of the big CAA on it though.
