This arrived today. A guy going through a D.I.V.O.R.C.E. needed some quick cash so who was I to turn down a Bushy deal? Picked it up from my local FFL dealer, stripped it, cleaned it, and installed a Magpul trigger guard. (budget optics are temporary and came with the package) I was able to strip it all the way down to the firing pin without any problems. Headed to the range tomorrow to learn how to shoot it. Range report to follow. btw: thanks to the Forum...I'm reading all I can and learning a lot. Hope it's ok to slip in a noob question: What's the best way to clean the gas system? Some of the plumbing is smaller than a drinking straw.

Thanks, gas tube is no longer a consideration.
Tomorrow I'll lose my AR cherry and actually shoot one for the first time. Can't imagine how much better it will shoot than my SKS Ruskies. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/doc540/Guns/AR15/Bushmaster%20A2S/Bushmaster013-1.jpg |

Welcome to the sickness. I'm beginning to exhibit some symptoms. Yesterday I ordered 600 more rounds of ammo. Today I ordered an Iosso cleaning brush set (including a chamber brush) and bore cleaner. When I got home tonight, I broke it down and cleaned the extractor thoroughly....again. |

For one thing I have amblyopia and can only shoot using my left eye. I'm right handed, so I just shoot left handed with no problems.
I wear trifocals cut for 3 distances: close: 6-10" medium: 10-24" distant: beyond 24" When I put my cheek on the stock, I'm unable to focus on or through the irons due to the cut of my trifocals. The vertical blade is just a blur. I can see the target clearly but have no accurate reference point from the irons. A single vision or bi-focal pair of shooting glasses would be much better, but my next $300 will probably go to ammo. Besides, the red dot works just fine for my purposes which is close range to 50 yd. personal defense. |
