| i recently purchased an M&P fixed tactical, so it doesn't have a flash supressor. is it as simple as taking the barrel and flash supressor to a machine shop and having them thread the barrel? or is there alot more to it? thanks in advance guys |

I just purchased the same rifle last Saturday and am researching this very subject. Everyone speaks of ADCO as being "the one" to send it to and from their reviews it seems that you can't go wrong with them and if anything they'll only improve your barrel but I just am not the most comfortable with shipping my upper to someone out of state. From what I gather, if you are just going to thread for a flash suppressor it isn't as much a big deal who does it but for a silencer or sound suppressor it is because the threads need to be nonconcentric.
But anyhow I'm curious how do you like the look of the barrel as is? I am trying to convince myself of keeping it as is, I already have a 6920 with the M4 profile and this is something a little different. Looks a little cleaner to me but also a little unfinished |

I'd be more uncomfortable going somewhere locally. Where are you going to find a local smith with anywhere near the honest feedback (positive) that ADCO gets here on this board? Go ask a local smith for references and I'm sure he'll send you to some happy customers. Don't expect him to point you to any disgruntled customers. |
| I'm gonna say if you have it done then send it to ADCO, if I decide to do it I think thats what i will end up doing regardless of me wanting to ship it or not. I only plan on adding a flash hider but still you never know, someday i may want a silencer and i don't want that thing to explode in my hands if I do and it isn't threaded right. ADCO can even M4 profile it for you if you like and have it looking just like the 15T when all is done and said but i hear you on that stock, I'm planning on putting a Magpul CTR on mine, still haven't decided about the grip |
