Howdy guys kinda new here and haven't really dealt with buying or selling AR's. I currently have a Bushmaster O.R.C only upgrade on it is a set of YHM carbine alum. quad rails. There is a fella here in town with a Colt LEO M4. A3 upper. NIB. He would be interested in trading my rifle plus $700 for the colt. Should i do it or is it not worth it? I know allot of people are gung ho for their favorite brand but is there any real performance difference that makes either one better than the other? again sorry for the Fucktard questions.

It depends on the condition and round count on the Bushy, and on whether or not YOU think it is a good deal.

A new 6920 is going for around $1,500 right now (higher in some places, maybe a little lower in others).  If your Bushy is worth around $800, then that deal is pretty fair.

35 rounds through the bushmaster paid $950 for it new and $100 for the quad rails. It's in perfect condition. I would only be willing to trade it off if there was some reason the colt was better than the bushmaster if there really is nothing better about the colt, i don't believe in paying extra for a name.

I have both the Bushmaster and the Colt 6920, and wouldn't trade either. For the non-professional user (like me), the Colt doesn't do anything more or better than the Bushmaster, and that being the case unless you were getting the Colt for less than the current market price, I'd decline the deal.

The colt will not do anything better for you than the bushmaster. Stick with what you have. Thats stupid to give up a perfectly good low mileage AR plus 700bux just for a brandname.

Unless you are just dying for the Colt, I am inclined to agree with the other two replies you've got here.

I concur..... the Colt is nice but if you're an average user I don't think you'd be able to tell a $700 difference.

Keep the AR and use the $700 for the start of another one.

Houston gun show last weekend had dealers asking 1700. Lake Charles this weekend had dealers asking 1999. I laugh because the dealers today were  complaining that they were not selling anything. These dealers also had two boxes of pmags for 30 each.

I laughed.

I will have to say that I would stick with the Bushy. I like my 6920, but $700 will buy a lot of ammo and mags. Colt makes a great rifle, I have one, but so does Bushy. Maybe $300 or so more but that is just too much. That Bushy will most likely out last you-keep it.

There was a gun show here today, what few AR' they had were way over priced i thought.  There was a 6920 for $1900 two plain jane bushmasters xm15's  for $1300 and a couple old frankenmutt rough m16 styles for $1000 with free rust pitting. The ammo was $200 for a 1969 sealed battle pack of 300 rounds. Then there was the slew of double stars with UTG quads and air soft lights and lasers on them goin for $13-1500

all that said i anyone used Midwest Industries FF quad rails? are they worth cutting off the delta ring?

The local (Scottsdale Az) gunshop sold over 50 Colt 6920s in 7 days at $1650. I think they correctly anticipated the election results and had inventory in transit the day before the election.  They are now sold out of all ARs, AKs, M1As, etc. Their website lists the inventory on each item for sale in real time, so the sales numbers I believe are real and the display is empty.
