Just curious to hear about some of your longest shots with a 5.56 AR.
And what kind of ammo you prefer at long range. Either for 1in 8 or 1in 9 twist. |

We'd shoot at 4'x4' target boards with a man sized silhouette pasted in the middle. At that distance the silhouette is much narrower than the front sight post, so I'd just aim for the middle of the big white square. I want to say I could hit the silhouette about 70% of the time this way. That's about as good as I remember anyone doing. |
| I shot 600 yd sling supported prone 2 weeks ago. I was using a buddy's RRA NM A2 w 1/4 irons, 75gr Hornady factory. It was my first experience at 600, I shoot reduced matches at home. Once I got dialed in with the wind I scored 95/100. The black at that distance is 36in. Most of my shot were within 18in of each other. |
