I've had the best luck with 52 gr. Sierra Match King and WW748. Will be working up 69 gr. SMK with Varget. Also, I've heard of good results with VV 133 and 52 gr. SMK. Had less than stellar accuracy with 55gr win ball and 62gr ss109. The guys here seem to like the Hornady 55gr. ball.
My experience is that AR's are very finicky (interms of accuracy) with different loads vs. say an M1A where 90% will shoot great with 168gr. SMK and 4895. I've had guys give me their top secret pet load that shot like shit out of my gun. But another load will shoot sub MOA. Bottom line I think is you need to experiment. Hope this helps. |
