Hi all......newby here.  I just got my RRA and would like to adjust / change the grip to give me a longer distance to the trigger.  (I have large hands.)  I see that Magpul has a grip w/ inserts to make it bigger / longer.    And I see ERGO has a "Rite Pull Grip Extension"  to move the grip back .75" .   I really like the aggressive finger grooves of the RRA, so I'm leaning toward the ERGO extension, and keep the RRA grip.  Does anyone have experience with either / both of these options, and what are your thoughts?  Or maybe there's a better option altogether??  Thanx mucho......

You can try the g27 grip. Has finger grooves and a backstrap. GTG for big hands.

I have the Command Arms 7 Piece Modular system. I have long fingers and this allowed me to fine tune finger placement on the trigger itself, as before the trigger was in the 1st joint just below my fingertip....It has 2 sections that are modular.....looking at the gun sideways, the rear has an insert, and the front has an insert....allowing not only the finger placement on the trigger but the grip size overall. I got mine on ebay for around $28 shipped.

Some of us want an even longer fore to aft length than is available so I decided to make my own.  I got a 2 part 'Bondo like' stick from WalMart, added material where I thought it needed some, used my hand to grip it and get a feel of what I wanted, then let it dry, sanded it to finished shape, and finely spray painted it flat black.  Surprisingly, the grip and paint have held up very well with only a bit of shine at rub points of the grip.  Its a $5 fix and well worth the effort.  Besides, if you don't like your initial mods, you can add and/or remove filler to 'tune' it to your specific grip.

I started with the G27:

I added material to the backstrap and I also increased the size of the thumbshelf:

While I was at it, I added a bit to the right side for a trigger finger support:

I made them for both of my ARs (note that they have different shaped backstraps as I'm still experimenting with them) :

Thanks QUIB, that worked.

Seems that I'm having issues with Photobucket and adding in pictures all of a sudden. I went to 'Help' to see if anything has changed but it appears that all is the same as before I went on my trip. Ideas??

Delete the captial IMG /IMG, and replace it with small-case img /img in the url and it should work. I’ve been having the same problem with the new board code accepting Photobuckets img code.

Buy a Magpul MIAD. Choose the parts that fit you best. End of story.

I need one for my new Stag 2L.  Will the grip accept the ambidextrous safety on the Stag?  [>:/]

Don't edit it on photobucket - paste it into the editor on arfcom, then edit there.

PITA, but what ya gonna do.

FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda.

Bobby Bowden is doing a fine job - just leave him alone.

well, you could just click to copy the direct link then paste it using the image button.  That stopped working after they played around with the editor a few days ago.

You'll be fine.

Edit- the only reason I didn't recommend the Magpul was because the OP wanted fingergrooves. It really is a great grip.

Thanx for the input. I ordered the G27 today, and if I want it larger I'll try some of what COSteve did.  That's pretty cool!
