Isn't the URX a pain in the butt to install? I thought it needed an insanely expensive mounting/installation device. I don't really know too much about them.
$278 bucks WOW!! |

Quoted:
Why don't you get the KAC URX II, it's newer and better. It is going to come on all the Knights carbines. Newer, better, and it's free floating, but more expensive, mandatory professional installation for most, and costs time. It's a great quality FF rail, but there's plenty of reasons not to go with the URX II. |

Quoted: I don't see the advantage of free floating a 14.5 barrel on a carbine. A 20in barrel long range barrel would show an advantage for sure, but I doubt a 14.5 on a carbine would show much improvement. Why don't you get the KAC URX II, it's newer and better. It is going to come on all the Knights carbines. |

I am a Knight's fan-boy and a user of the KAC rifle length URX II, M5 and Carbine length RAS.
The URX II is awesome but remember you have to send your upper off to someone else for it to be installed (unless you buy the special tooling required ) and once installed you can't just take it off for maint or what ever. If installed properly it takes a little heat and some careful persuasion to get it back off, even Knight's has a tough time with it from time to time. Don't let this put you off though as this is the most rock solid platform you will find.

I know you asked for Knight's. And I know there are a fine product with an equally fine price tag.
There may be other members who would like to know there are other excellent alternatives to these rails, the ones by SureFire leap to mind. I am no SureFire whore, as I am sure there are others. That said, the leads by the previous posters were right on. -Z |
