No I am not talking about wobble or a gap, I am talking about a very noticeable unevenness in how the upper is sitting on the lower.  When I run my fingers down the crack between the receivers, they are uneven.  I thought maybe problems with the hammer failing due to it not being perfectly center and aligned properly.

Thanks.

Sorry, another question.  Forgive my ignorance.

What does this mean exactly:

Round doesn't fire but primer was struck.

It means it was a light primer strike or a dud with a bad primer..

It has only happened once.

I have tried other ammo in it, functioned fine.

The trigger is a default single stage factory one.

It is a new upper, but old lower.

I wanted to add that I fired 230 rounds thru it that day, and this happened once.

Ultramax doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation.  I'd avoid buying any more...

You sure?

Oh yeah and also when I cleaned the weapon, after I snapped the receivers together and pulled back CH to begin to do a function check, the firing pin fell out!  I put everything back together properly also.  Now why would it do that?

And I also forgot to mention I didn't touch/inspect the bolt/carrier or clean the weapon in any way after I got the upper brand new, I just took it out to shoot it, no barrel break in, ect.  But I didn't think it is necessary on a chrome lined AR15 barrel anyway.

Pull out your BCG...now.
Remove the cotter pin holding the firing pin in place, and see if it is broke.
If not, install the firing pin, hold it tight to the rear of the bolt, and re-install the cotter pin.

I seriously doubt you put it back together correctly if all the parts are there.  Sounds like you either forgot the firing pin retaining pin OR didn't put the firing pin all the way when you installed the retaining pin so the coller was outside the retaining pin.

By cotter pin you mean retaining pin?

Okay maybe I just made a random dumb error when putting it back together.

Seems fine now and since right after I put it back in after that happening.

Another question.

I just got a new lower for it that I have yet to use.

When I hit the bolt release and the BCG slams into position, it doesn't make a sprong noise.  It's just a quick clicking sound.  And also there is a bunch of white shit all over the buffer spring.  The same white substance that was all over some stuff in my LMT lower.

the white shit may be grease.
grease tends to dampen the sproing noise.
i know because i find the noise distracting so i grease all my springs.
