Well I ordered a 6920 last Thursday from Clyde Armory. My local gun shop (which has been in business for decades) received the gun, but without a copy of Clyde Armory's FFL. Long story short, my local gun shop said they cannot keep the gun without a copy of Clyde Arm.'s FFL. My local gun shop had already sent Clyde Armory their FFL, but CA would not return the favor. They said it was against their policy to give out copies of the FFL. They said they had ran into issues with this in the past but would not budge. It seems very fishy to me. Is my local shop wrong for mandating a copy of the shipper's FFL? Or had Clyde Armory just lost their mind, and not operating in a lawful manner?
Clyde Armory is www.policeguns.com by the way. I will not be dealing with them again. Thanks for the info. I am confused and a little angry. John |

As a dealer you are required to have a copy of the shipper's FFL on file in order to log the gun in. I've had to send stuff back before due to lack of an FFL. Think about it, you can't log the gun in from Bob's gun shop in Texas. The ATF examiner would literally shit a chicken.
My advice is for YOU to call Clyde's and speak to a Manager or the Owner. As a dealer I refuse to hand out my FFL to INDIVIDUALS. I will however fax or mail a copy to another dealer once I have verified that they are a dealer through the FFL EZ Check. |

There is no reason for one legitimate licensed dealer not to include a copy of his FFL with the shipment when shipping to another legitimate licensed FFL.
I can understand not wanting to spread copies out to every customer end user, but why be a dick when transferring dealer to dealer? I expect an FFL with every shipmement I take in and I include one with every outgoing shipment. |

I called Clyde numerous times, spoke to the manager, and tried to speak with the owner. They refused to fax a copy of the FFL even though they had my local shops FFL. The local shop said the ATF mandated they had the FFL to log the gun in their book. |
| They said they will refund my money once they get the gun back. If not, Ill just cancel the credit card payment... Im not too worried about the money right now, because Im sure I will get a refund. I am just mad they would not just fax a copy of their FFL to another FFL and resolve the whole situation in 5 minutes. Instead they wanted to argue and run me around in circles. The kicker is that the manager of Clyde said if he had known my local shop had wanted a copy off the FFL ahead of time, he would have worked something out. Too bad my local shop showed me a copy of the fax that they sent along with their FFL to Clyde and it stated on there that they needed a copy and a packing slip incuded with the rifle. I even saw the confirmation that the fax went through. Clyde, of course, denyed all of this. |
