| I just purchased my first ar. I bought the 16inch rifle kit from Delton (all standard parts). Me and my dad will be assembling it this week. This is my first ar so dont bash me like other forums and just let me know what you think of this kit. THANKS |

ff162bfd, just be aware that there are a ton of brands and a ton of opinions. As the saying goes, opinions are like a-holes, we all have one and they all stink. :) Many people sing the praises of Colt and Noveske as the "quality/high end" ARs, with Bushmaster, RRA, etc., coming in as the "good" off the shelf models. Some people bash the online kit companies, but I wouldn't sweat it. I just got my upper kit from Model1Sales, and know many people that have great experiences with them. Take your time, build it right, and I'm sure your Delton will serve you well for many years to come. Post pics when you're done ... I'm building my this weekend and will post pics as well!! |

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your first AR. I don't have any experience with Delton, but I have noticed them being recommended across the forum lately. As for users bashing you, well...everyone seemed very welcoming when I joined a week or two ago. Just like any forum you have the brand groupies, the brand haters, the trolls, etc...but for the most part everyone is really nice, and this is a great place to learn about your new toy. Be sure to check out all the sticky topics at the top of each section, and read up all you can. The first 250 questions you'll want to ask, can be answered in those stickies or with the search function.  Be sure to post some pictures! |
| Thanks for the reply, after reading many reviews I chose this kit because it has a great price, and great customer service. By the way im just using it for hogs, coyotes, etc. I found out very quickly ar guys are very touchy about there brands. I mean no harm any input is great. THANKS |
It will be used for "just" that stuff...then you'll want a railed forearm, a SureFire rig, vert grip, pmags, eotech optic...hundreds of dollars later you'll be searching the group buy section to jump on uppers and lowers so you can build another AR. The black rifle disease will own you. Only took a week after buying my very first AR, and I've already spent like 200 on extras.
