I finished (for now) my lightweight build.  Barrel is a 16" del-ton lightweight.  I am using the Ace Ultra Lite Entry stock.  I thought the stock would be too short, but I am really starting to like the light weight and solid feel of it, easy to shoot NTCH now

All up weight with an empty 20 rd. mag is 5.9 lbs.  I can go lighter if I wanted to, but I just wanted to build a light dependable AR with easy to obtain parts.

I will probably be duracoting the handguard, metal parts of the buttstock and get a Magpul MOE grip in FDE, but other than that, this one is going to stay simple.

I will tell you, there is a HUGE difference between the feel/handling of this rifle compared to my other heavier rifle.  I think I am going to really like that pencil barrel for fast shooting.  Now I need to sign up for some competition coarses!

Here it is, all 5.9 lbs.

Compared to my 9.5 lb. tack driver

Well done! It looks great.

I went lightweight with my recent upper. But it's a Spikes dedicated .22LR.

Looks good, man! I'm partial to lightweights myself.

Thanks guys!  I really like them both as well  My HBAR barreled rifle shoots sub MOA and can easily hit clays out to 400 yds.

I'm hopefully going out to Pawnee Saturday to see how the lightweight shoots. I don't expect it to be the tack driver that my other rifle is, hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised though.  Either way, that's not what this one was built for.  I wanted a lightweight for fast/moving shooting and this one should fit the bill!

Thanks!  I'm kind of partial to it myself

ME TOO!!!

Lately I have built more LWs than anything else. Build looks great- I love the ACE stock. I still think the foam-padded ACE is the best cheek-weld ever. I had one back in the ban days.

Well I decided to shoot it with some Krylon Camo tan to see if I liked it.  I LIKE IT!  So, I'm going to order up some Duracote FDE and respray it now that I know how it will look.

It looks exactly like what I'm thinking about putting together. Nice job!

Did you build it from a kit?
Del-ton upper and lower?
What BUIS are those?
And most importantly: how does it shoot?
