I've had a Colt SP1 since the early 70's and I'm looking to purchase a new AR. I want one that has the removeable carring handle. Any suggestions on the manufacturer? Also do any of the manufacturers offer the barrel for the A3 config. with a 1-12" twist barrel?

bushmaster does offer an a3,just bought 1.not in 1/12 though

you are going to be hard pressed to find a 1/12 twist barrel nowadays...

typically 1/9 is the most common and will shoot all bullets up to 68/69gr... it MAY shoot 75gr rounds, but that is the exception not the rule...

CMMG offers almost any configuration you would want, including a 1/12 twist.
