Put it in the freezer for about 4hrs it will expand and it will be easy to turn...

Did you install the barrel nut or did somebody else?
Some folks use Loc-Tite, especially when installing free float handguards, bad practice but folks do it anyway.
A judicious application of heat will normally break the Loc-Tite grip on the barrel nut.

If the barrel nut is just galled up against the aluminum receiver then consider the 24" breaker bar to be your best friend.

Heat and the breaker bar should free the barrel nut if in any doubt.

I wouldn't call it "easy," but if it's just stuck, that should do it.  However, if someone used Locktite of any kind in assembling it (aside from doing nobody any favors in the process), you're going to have to use a torch to heat up the barrel nut (and ONLY the nut) to break the threadlock loose and THEN use your wrench.

One word on the barrel wrench: use a DPMS wrench if at all possible.  Otherwise, you could really chew up the barrel nut if it's stubborn.

Since when did cold expand things? You need a physical science class.

It's a metric freezer.

I messed up my barrel nut when it was stuck and couldn't get it off with my DPMS tool.  Resorting to a big ole pipe wrench got it off immediately!

Heat is the key.  Use heat and you'll break the nut loose.

Well heat alone didnt get it .But an overnight soak in liquid wrench and heat did the trick!! Thanks to all who replied!!!
