Are you sure it came from RRA? I've never seen one that was not staked.

Not normal.

Stake properly.

Enjoy.

Not staked at all?

The RRA BCG I had wasn't staked very well, but it was staked.

Its funny seeing that with every Colt thread we get the choir claiming RRA is every bit as good as Colt.

Cant say it enough.....buy good stuff the first time around!

That appears to be a RRA BCG from the packaging...That's the first one I've seen like that.
Here's a thread on how to properly stake your carrier key screws.

You can buy a MOACKS and fix it yourself (altough you don't need it, but I think it is a cool tool), or contact Steve at RRA..I am sure he would make it right.

ETA : MOACKS

Colt=MilSpec
The Love of and Adherance to MilSpec earned Colt thier position the 1911A1 market.
Yup taught them inferior newcommers/wannabees like Wilson,Kimber,Para and Springfield a thing or two didn't we boys.

Can't wait till LaRue,Noveske,Rock River and the rest of em learn up as well.

I agree your carrier key are not properly staked.

Either DIY the staking per the link posted, or have it reworked by let's say ADCO or any competent gunsmith of your choice, or buy a BCG that's properly staked like LMT, BCM, Colt, or from Denny's Guns-GTS and maybe you could sell the one you already have if you wish.

All the RRA BCGs I've ever gotten were just wrapped in brown paper and always staked.

does it have to be staked if loctite were used ?

Loctite breaks down over time from being heated up and cooled down. I wouldnt trust it all for a BCG.

Then BCM/Dennys BCG'S are no good to you then?

They are staked so it doesnt matter to me. Im just saying I wouldnt use it as the only means of securing the carrier key screws.

took it back and had the armorer stake it.this is a reputable dealer and I have no reason to believe it's not an RRA factory part.
