When building and registering a sbr, is it legal to have one registered lower and multiple sbr uppers. Such as having a 7.5 and a 10.5 upper while only having one lower.  Any help with this matter is appreciated. Thanks

If I remember correctly when you are filling out the Form 1 you can indicate you are building the rifle for mutiple calibers/barrel lengths. Don't quote me though - its been a while.

On the form 1, state one primary caliber and length, and you can buy as many different caliber and length uppers as you want for that specific lower, so long as you keep your primary length and caliber upper that you have written on your form1 as your PRIMARY.

I have never done it, but recall seeing that you do not have to list one particular length.

For example you could put (7.5" to 14.5") lengths as opposed to just 7.5"  Then it pretty well covers all the bases.

Thanks for all help, wish I would have never found this website as my credit card balances seem to be on the rise due to the brd.  I sure wish the gov would come and bail me out to.

You can no longer list your barrel length as 7-15. You have to be specific about the how long the barrel is. You can still list other calibers but you must also list how long each of those barrels are.

You should check out http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/  They can answer all of your NFA questions...
