Otherwise, if you must have a perfect rifle, GunKote should do get the job done pretty well.

I'll third not spray painting your upper.  The paint won't resist a wide array of gun cleaning solvents, creating a mess everytime you clean the rifle.  Who gives a shit about the mismatch colors of anodizing?  I don't.  If it really bothers you, Duracoat or gunkote at least will be a reasonably solvent resistant finish.

Hello,
May I suggest KG GunKote. It is available in cans and aerosol spray but it is NOT spray paint. It's an epoxy based highly scratch and abrasion resistant finish with some self lubricating properties. Very nice, very durable and comes in other colors besides black.Resists most known chemichals and solvents.Originaly developed for the navys seal program. My friends and myself have had nothing but good experience with the stuff for the last 20 years or so. You can do this finish yourself.

It might sound like i'm drinking KG koolaid but i'm not. "I just call em like i see em"

Spray paint is about the least durable finish you can put on a gun. Its going to get chipped and worn down in high spots, and most solvents you use the clean the weapon will dissolve the paint, and cause drip areas to run.

And parkerizing is for steel. The upper and lower recievers are alluminum, and are anodized.

Personally I would not worry about about the finish. As you use the gun, and it shows wear you wont really notice it all that much.

Thanks for the input..I really did not think that spray paint was a good idea, just wanted to know what others thought......it really is not two bad, now that I look at them , it seems what is throwing the color match off is that the upper looks to have a teflon coat  and the lower does not. I guess all in all the slight diff. really is no big deal.

I will just keep it as is, the only reason it bugs me a LITTLE, is I have 2 other ar's ....RRA and LMT  and they just look nice with matching uppers and lowers, but It really is not a big deal at all to me, was just woundering if there was a fast fix product I had not heard about.

Use your non-matching rifle the most, get some wear & tear on it.  Then it won't look so different.
