ok, help me out please: I own one AR and would like to build my second one. I want it to be an ultra lightwieght. I know if i have a barrel shorter than 16" overall, it is considered a short barrel rifle (SBR?), right? it is then subject to the $200 tax stamp and background check, right? So how do I go about this on a rifle I build? Isn't it illegal to posses before i get the approvals? but then how do i build it since i assume it has to be built to apply for the approvals?? *SIGH* Someone please help with my lack of knowledge. check Armory -> General Class 3 for more details In a nutshell : Register the stripped lower as SBR, then purchase the upper you want. Pretty easy process really. |
