| On tri-rail systems like this, if you stuck a small scope on one of the side sets of rails, would you be able to sight it in or would it be impossible to sight in being so far over? |

It would work fine.. I have seen a few guys run a red dot at 3 o'clock and some sort of magnified optic at the 12 o'clock position on their 3 gun setups. You then have the best of both worlds. The red dot at 3 o'clock is only for short ranges cause you really only cant the rifle about 45 degrees to see through it.. Other than that I dont see any reason to do so.. Why do you want to do it?>? |

I'm running a 1-4x as the main sight (zeroed at 100 yrds) and a holo sight mounted on the rails that are part of the rings for the main sight. The holo is turned 90 degrees counterclockwise and is zeroed at 50 yrds. I can view thru the scope with my right eye and then open the left and see the holo without moving my head. Very quick sight acquisition with the red dot holo. Since it is off-axis with the barrel it does not maintain zero at 100 yrds, though it's still on target. Hope this description makes sense... Will work fine as long as you only ever need to shoot at one known range to target. Get off of that known range, either way, and then we find out about your ability to apply Kentucky windage, not just elevation. |
