I have a sabre competition model AR. The handguard is solid round but at the end where the groove are indented in the handguard, some of the grooves has been cut out I'm sure for ventilation.

Can I not mount like the 4 inch rails to this handguard instead of changing out the entire handguard? I know it's a cheap way out right now but it will do.

If so, my only other question is what are these things actuall called (for searching purposes) and how do I get them to tighten down since I can't get on the inside of the rail?

(( Looking at the end of the forearm near the front site, there are oval holes at the front, this is where I would like to mount just the rails instead of changing out the entire forearm.
