Bought a complete rifle a while back with a RRA lower and a no name upper. After about 200 rounds extraction problems started happening constantly. So I bought a NIB RRA upper.
Can Any one tell me who makes an upper with a barrel which is thick under the hand guards and thin in front of the FSB?

Not enough info. Are there any stampings on the barrel anywhere - forward of the FSB or under the handguards?

RRA did use Wilson or Shaw barrels at one time-not sure if they still do. We need a pic and/or measurements/demensions to be able to possibly determine what barrel that you might have.
