has anyone bought the "Command Arms M-33S Handguard 2-Rail AR-15 Carbine Length Synthetic Black" handguard?

the reviews say it fits great with a colt and bushmaster but how does it feel with a DPMS?

I bought one years ago when they were still new and cheap.  They work OK for a foregrip, but the rails weren't exactly MIL-STD 1913, so you might have a problem if you want to use a true 1913 grip in the future.  Also I had to add a piece of weaver rail to the side via the WECSOG method, so I could mount a light at the "thumb" position.  They later came out with the M44 rails which would have solved that problem I suppose....

In short, I still have them on one of my AR's, and I'm not sweating it.  But for the money, your just not getting a whole heck of a lot in my opinion.  A bolt-on 1913 rail would do just as well, and be cheaper too, but If you have "Glacier Guards" that may not work.  Hmm.

Check out this from Bravo Co. for $19.50

If I was on a tight budget and I had to get a rail, I'd get another YHM lightweight free-float (if your comfortable taking your barrel and front sight off), or one of the drop-in rail handguards from YHM or Midwest Industries.

And let me say this also, while there are many items that get argued over for the sake of snobbery, a good handguard is not something I would quibble over.  You could save your money for now, and get an excellent in-spec handguard for not much over $200, like the DD Omega, LaRue, etc later.  It would be an investment you wouldn't regret.
