The test is a bit unfair as far as the timing is concerned, but Hk has incorporated holes in the buffer tube, and with the gas piston, it will drain better than a standard DI M4, and will therefor be safer to shoot very soon after coming out of the water. Also, not all wars have been fought, or will be fought in the desert. Are you telling me that operators have never taken there weapons into water? ![]() It's funny how everyone here constantly bags on Hk. They make some of THE best firearms in the world, and holly shit if they have marketing campaigns designed around selling those weapons. Damn near all other products in all markets do the exact same thing to sell more units. Numbers and specifications are always fudged with a little bit in manufacturer marketing material. But anyhow...just keep thinking it's all just a bunch of crap cause there is no other weapon out there that brings any improvement whatsoever to the table over the M4. The DI M4 will always and forever be the ultimate unbeatable battle rifle, and you will always feel good about yourself cause you have the best that can't be beat.

Umm, the AR has a drain hole in the buffer tube as well. |
They're just pissed because the little Colt blew the fuck up.

Knowing that the failure induced by the water in the barrel was a case head rupture, and knowing that the extra holes in the receiver extension & piston operation had no bearing on the barrel drainage....you still rush to somehow validate this fraudulent comparison. If you fire an HK with water in the barrel, like they did the Colt, it will result in the same case head failure, and the same destruction of the receivers witnessed in the M4. No matter how well the barrel is made, the receivers are just 7075, and the ammunition is still brass cased. So, the demonstration is propaganda. I'm not "bagging" on HK's weapon, just their BS advertising. |
