| I want an Ar15 but am on a budget. I like the shorter barrels but that is not a huge issue. I want to know what my options are and can I buy a complete gun as cheap as building one? What brands do you recommend? I feel the pressure to buy like I did in 1992 when Klinton was elected. |
| Build it yourself, you will know more about the gun (the ends and outs) benefits you know what to fix if something breaks. there are step by step guides on ar15.com or you tube I just built my first m4 model it was 499 for complete stag upper chrome barrel, m4 feed ramps, titanium pin sabre defense lower delton lower parts kit and ctr buttstock for 800 |

For that budget you'll have to build it yourself. Del-Ton 16" Midlength kit = $465 Stripped Lower = +/- $100 DPMS Removable A2 rear sight from Del-ton = $75 Two P-mags = $30 Total for nice carbine = $670 plus shipping. Do NOT buy one of the Vulcan AR's you see floating around for $500-$600, or anything with polymer upper or lowers... - AG |
+1 I bought a DPMS lower. Then picked up a DPMS lower parts kit from a forum member for like $55.00. Then matched it all up with a Del-ton Mid length upper half. I learned ALOT about the gun by doing this and it was enjoyable. And I'm in a New home-built AR for less than $600 |
