Good product but poor service.  They are not rude but just busy and don't always get your product to you when they say they will or return email and phone calls.  Custom uppers may take a few months to get but if you want a standard upper then places like Aim Surplus have a better price than direct and will treat you right.  I have two and would by again.

+1/2 - They are rude, and would rather cancel an order then make it right.  At least they gave me my money back in a timely manner.

I will say though, that the 1 CMMG barrel I do have turned out excellent.  It's a shame that I'll never be able to do business with them again.

My mid-length gov profile upper is absolutely flawless. Never a single problem except with one faulty magazine which was returned to an online retailer. CMMG is money well spent - quality components. Never had to deal with CS because my upper is perfect.

CMMG is good stuff, but if you want it quickly make sure you order from a dealer that has it in stock.

Ive had success with CMMG, I own 2 Barrels from them. I actually got my latest barrel quicker than what I was told. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks, it shipped within a few days of the org. order date. The only thing I dont like and it really isnt CMMGs fault is shipping prices. I ordered a light mount (it weighs next to nothing) but im being charged 8bux to ship it.

They make an excellent product but excellent products don't make up for hit & miss CS & QA sometimes. I've received the wrong barrel length & they still charged me a 15% restock fee while swearing up & down that I received what I ordered. I've had a lower with noticeable, deep grind marks from the milling process & an uneven finish. Sold the lower (it worked just fine), went with LMT for the correct barrel but I'm keeping my outstanding 10.3 that I use for duty although it has soft muzzle threads. I love the options they offer & most of their gear is g2g just like the other popular brands. I would order from them again if I had to have something else that they offer but I would be puckering a lil bit after my last experience. I would recommend ordering from one of the many vendors that stock CMMG gear if you just want a standard set up. If you have to have one of their products with optional features you are stuck ordering from the factory with unknown wait times but this is the norm with other brands & sometimes the wait from others is even longer.

All in all though they are a good, young company with some growing pains but not so much I would totally write them off. If I ever received the terrible CS some here are claiming to have experienced then I would definitely mark them off my list. I hear that this Linda who is claimed to be such a witch when dealing with customers is the mother of the owner? Is this true or more Internet BS? I've not had any bad issues when dealing with her or the rest of them via e-mail or on tx so I can't jump on the bash CMMG bandwagon. I wouldn't bash them anyway regardless how terrible an experience might be.

I have 2 CMMG barrels, an 18" midcon that is a tackdriver, and a 14.5 w/permed phantom that shoots great. I also have one of their lowers and it is all good to go.

Bad CS and QA.  I won't buy from them again.  YMMV.

+1 on "hit or miss in QC."  With perseverence you should end up with a quality piece, but I probably won't go there again.

I ordered my first upper and lower from CMMG based on recommendations and extensive reading on various forums.  I received my lower less than a week after I ordered it, and my upper came in about a week and a half--both substantially quicker than the turnaround times that CMMG has posted on their site.

I received notification when my lower was sent, but not my upper.  Questions were usually answered with brief, one sentence replies.  I tried to get the barrel changed on my order, but the only response I got was an e-mail telling me that the order has already shipped.

The quality of the upper and lower I ordered is very good.  I liked the extensive options available when ordering both the lower and upper.  The good thing is that they don't charge gunsmithing or installation fees when you order accessories on their rifles.

Granted, my experience with CMMG is limited, I was happy with the product and overall process.

I bought my lower and upper from CMMG. I recieved my lower within a week of ordering it. It had a chip in the finish near the roll pin on the bolt release, apparently happened during install. I got the upper 8 weeks later. It had a small ding in the forward assist button.

I'm pleased with how it shoots and am not overly concerned about the two small dings. Everything else is in great condition. I did not get any notification of shipping. I ordered online and my CC was not charged until the upper shipped.

The customer service does not inspire confidence, but I'm happy with the final product overall. 8/10.
