So im new here, and this has probably been asked to death, so if there is info in another thread please guide me there. I just bought a brand new LMT defender a few months back, it has a 1/7 twist, i mostly shoot 55gr XM193 and i clean after every use. How many rounds should i expect my barrel to live through? Thanks.

The weight of opinion here on arfcom seems to be if you have a Noveske, Colt or LMT, it'll last forever.

If you have anything else, it'll fall apart on the way home from the gun store.

well it all depends on how you shoot, not what you shoot

my bushy 1/9 barrel has lasted for 23k rounds. the throat has some erosion but it I can still pick off a bowling pin at 100 yards.

correct. dumping several c-mags in a row can speed up erosion. You will toast a gas tube before you burn up a barrel. There are several users on here who have photographed the gas tube drooping over the barrel red hot.
