What is the comparative accuracy of the gas piston systems as compared to the original direct gas impingment? My guess would be that the piston would be less accurate due to the additional mass and moving parts. If so, how much effect is there. What is the general experience of those who have shot both types of rifle?

THE ONLY PISTON SYSTEM THAT KEEPS THE AR'S FREE FLOATING BARREL IS THE PWS CONVERSION. WHILE THE PWS SYSTEM DOES INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT SUSPENDED BY THE BARREL, WE ARE ABLE TO STILL GET CONSISTENT SUB-MOA PERFORMANCE WITH MATCH GRADE BARRELS AND SUITABLE AMMO.

ALSO, CARRIER TILT PROBLEMS INHERENT IN ALL OTHER AR' PISTON SYSTEMS ARE NON-EXISTENT WITH THE PWS SYSTEM.

THAT'S WHY WE SETTLED ON THE PWS SYSTEM FOR OUR CUSTOM BUILDS - AND NO OTHERS!

GOOD SHOOTING,

It's not often that we have a chance to say that Wes wrong, but he is in this case.  The specially designed carrier in LWRCI guns eliminates tilt and their proprietary rail free floats the barrels.

Also, let's keep in mind that some of the most accurate weapons ever fielded are piston operated.
