Noveske offers a Surefire flashhider on their rifles. I know all about the Vortex and Blackout. They are top tier, and not the topic of discussion. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about the model Noveske offers and if it is on par with the above mentioned or the YHM Phantom. Also, can someone confirm the model Noveske puts on his rifles? The site says FH556k though pictures of his rifles seem to show the FH556-212A model. Can someone clarify?? thanks all. |
One of my troops just bought a Noveske rifle and used it in our rifle class. The flash hider was a FH556-212A. We didn't shoot at night so I can't talk about its level of flash suppression, but it was one of the most finely machined parts I've ever seen. Beautiful work. |
IMO they are much higher quality than the YHM, Vortex or Blackout. They work as advertised. |
SUREFIRE FA556-212A:![]() IT IS TRULY A WORK OF ART. GOOD SHOOTING, WES GRANT MSTN.BIZ |
I haven't used the Surefire model, but the blackout variants I've used have been pretty impressive. To the point of I don't see how something else is going to be "much higher quality". Lets face it, the Vortex is already a very functional unit, and is pretty much what everything else is held to as a standard. What did you find to be lacking about the quality of the Vortex and Blackout? |
Nothing was wrong with them, the Surefire was machined/finished better. Maybe much higher quality was a little too strong. The Vortex and Blackouts that I have used seemed to "ring" loudly, more so than any other FH I have used. |
Same here My favorite has become the PWS FSC556, I like it even more than the Surefire. |
Doesn't the ringing have something to do with dissipating the air around the muzzle so the flash is not so noticable? Thays why the open ended ones work so well?? |
I dont belive the ring has anything to do with flash suppression though I believe Vortex used to claim that. Certainly the Vortex and Blackout are bettter at reducing flash than Surefire bt not because of the ring. When Surefire switches to the better BE Meyers open prong design as an upgrade I suppose this means their quality will have gone down.
