Good afternoon all,

I have a new mid 70's AR15 upper that shoots low.  Why do I say it is new?  It looks it outside and even had the desiccant strip in the barrel.  Anyway, I was test firing it for the first time yesterday with equivalent to factory reloads and the thing shoots about 3 inches low.  That's with the front sight post adjusted all the way down.  I will test it again with some new Winchester factory ammo next time to see if there is any difference.  Are there different heights of sight posts available?

Thanks for all and any answers.

Best regards,

Terryfromok

Sounds odd.  I have a 50 yd zero with a Colt A1 with the front sight notched wheel only slightly below flush with the sight base.  Top o' the post is about 0.260" above the sight base.
Which aperture are you using to zero?
