| came across one the other day. Striped upper looks just like an A1 but no forward assist at all. No visable markings whatsoever. The sight is just for left/right no up/down. What is this one called? XM16? Any pics of one with no forward assist? Thanks |

As far as identification, you might want to ask the experts in the Retro Forum. For A1 sight parts you might try Bushmaster. www.bushmaster.com/products.asp?cat=21&zoom_highlight=A1 |
| Fulton Armory sells uppers like that with or without the sight assembly. I assume you could buy the sight assembly separately, but am not positive. They call them M16 style uppers, as in pre-A1 and pre-A2 and all that, but there were several different models that used them. I believe the A1 denotes the addition of the forward assist. |
