Hello all, I am new here, just wanted to start off by saying hello.

I have a noob question about lower recievers. I found a couple of stripped lowers at local gun shop. I need to know if these are good deals

RRA stripped lower - $119
DPMS stripped lower - $129

If I purchase the  parts kit for one of these, do I need an FFL, or can I just get them online somewhere.

Thanks again. I can see where these guns can be very addictive.

I wouldn't spend more than $97 for a dpms lower, after taxes and transfer fees no more than $120.

Thanks for the info guys. This info was from his web site. I am gonna go tomorrow, and have a look. I will probably go with the RRA. I am gonna have to piece my first gun together a little at a time, or my wife will kill me.

The RRAs have a reputation of being a tight upper to lower fit with many standard uppers.  One suggestion is to plan on buying a RRA brand upper, or a Model 1 sales (Gasp) mid length upper (which has been known to be sourced from RRA ).

Any lower parts kit and stock should fit fine.

The RRA lower, other than being tight, is a good deal.
