Just picked up a DPMS .308B and really like it! I'm now in the market for a top of the line AR in 6.8 or 6.5 Grendel, and would like to know which is concidered best all around for function and quaility. Have been looking at Lewis Machine & Tool Companies, and Barretts, as I like the piston guns because of the reduced need for cleaning, and reliable functioning. I'm not new to firearms, but very new to ARs. What do you seasoned AR shooters recommend for $3,000 or under. . . . . ? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have the pics in "my pictures" but somewhere between there and on the site i catch a snag. Their complete rifles are just awesome, they are as beautiful, as they are perfect for combat.

DJWright,

Top of the line IMHO would be as follows:

6.8 SPC - Barrett REC7

6.5 Grendel - Sabre Defence scroll down to Precision Marksman Rifle

my $0.02

Thanks Joe, never heard of the Sabre, but it does look pretty nice. I'm pretty sure I want a piston actuated bolt however, and appears they don't make one. The Barrett is definatly on my list to see. The LMT intriges me more all the time. I would probably go for the HK 416, but they seem to only come in .223. I'm sure there's got to be a bunch of good piston guns out there that I don't know about. Hmm, forgot to look at the Neveske. . . . . . . . .
