No I did not post this in the wrong area.

When you see a video of some new type of gun or part (like a piston system) being tested is it good enough if they do it on semi only?

I know in the end it may not make a lot of difference, but I have come to expect that every new thing be tried on full auto.

My point: Magpul makes the Masada. You will never be allowed to own one FA but the videos show them shooting FA. I like to see things like this Makes me more inclined to believe for some reason that they have done lots of testing with tons of mag dumps. (Which Magpul has)

On the other hand I watched a video for a piston driven gas system and the guy was shooting semi only. This makes me believe the guy is too poor to afford ammo and has put no more rounds through it than what you see in the video.( NOT necessarily true)

Who else feels this way?

To tell you the truth none of that really matters or influences my opinion I just like to see FA not semi

Not every mfr. is a C2

select fire abuse should indicate better durability, but hard semi use should
bring any potential issues to light.

Have seen video of the H&K 416 where they did FA mag dumps with beta mags.

From what I understand, the Masada is no longer Magpul's baby. They sold the thing off to Bushmaster.

Either way, If I had to bet the money on one weapon being more reliable, I'd take the 416 over the Bush-sada. Any videos you see now of the Bush-sada or the HK416 are pure advertisement as I haven't seen any real torture test yet for either rifle.

But full auto dumps are fun

Magpul is still testing/developing the rifle. Bushmaster has no say in the final design, they're simply producing it. There have been a couple of FA videos of the ACR around, and like said above there were some 100 round mag dumps with the 416. I believe that was on Future Weapons a year or two ago, I seem to remember them doing a FA 100 round mag dump while turning the rifle upside down and such.

Upside down.......The beta mags might feed better ups-down.

Found it. The mag dumps you're looking for start around 6 minutes. Fully rotated 360 degree mag dump.

I know all that about the Masada and the 416. I was more commenting on the fact that some people make vids of there new product and test semi only and how this is sort of disappointing.

I used Magpul as an example and was not talking about the 416.

I did not mean it as a Masada or piston AR comparison.

I meant it as a semi vs full auto product testing comparison.

I seem to remember a video of the ACR in full auto though? I think it was a couple of 30 round mag dumps. Here's a FA video of the ACR, I seem to remember more but I can't find 'em.
