Just picked up a BM Varminter at the local gunshop. Took it home, and started the mods... gotta love BRD!

Added a Magpull trigger guard, Crane extractor kit, staked the gas key, tac-latch on the charging handle, some glass, and a bipod.

Still didn't q_u_i_t_e scratch that itch, so swapped out the 6x42 for some REAL glass in a Larue 104, then spent the rest of the day rattle-canning it.

Stock two-stage trigger is sweet [once properly lubed], and despite the 24" tube, it balances out quite well for position shooting.

Field testing it this afternoon with some Privi-P 75 grn'ers.

Pretty sweet looking rifle.
One of the better paint jobs I've seen.
I'm not a big fan of paint but this ones pretty subtle.
Take a picture of the rifle sitting out in the tall grass or on the ground after the leaves fall....fun stuff!

Hey, thanks everyone. Here's a quick snap out in the environment. Too windy [+30 mph w/gusts over 45] to do anything meaningful other than getting it on paper.

I love it. Let us know what kind of groups you can get with it when the wind cooperates.

Looks like you've done this before.  Awesome results from a couple cans of paint and a creative mind.

Looks GREAT!!!
You should be proud of yourself!

What colors did you use? What was the base color and the masking agent?
Sticks, tape, etc?

Don't know if linking to another site is cool or not, so here is a copy of my post explaining the details.

Two colors looked better to me than 3+, so I used Rust-oleum's Flat Brown enamel #239112 as the base color, painted everything with 100% coverage in this.

Then used a mask to create the pattern using H.S. Camo's Marsh Grass #00321

found the perfect source for the "grass" mask, by cutting a few stalks off my wife's ride [she flies too fast anyway!]

taped these to a scrap piece of wood

and wha-la

Here's a wide shot of the usual AO I find myself in, high desert, west slope of the Rockies

That takes some balls to take a can of spray paint to $2000.00 worth of rifle and glass.
But, it looks really sharp. One of the nicest I've seen. I'd shit my pants if I had to spray paint one of my good rifles!
