I know this has probably been asked many times but I couldn't find the information I need when I searched for it.
MY question for you gurus...is how does RRA compare to other competitors quality wise? Is it about the same quality as DPMS, Bushmaster, and Stag? Could you compare it to the upper end ARs like LMT and Noveske?
RRA happens to have the setup I now think I want for an upper but I don't know much about them. Your guys advice is much appreciated!

I currently own a RRA Varmint EOP, and would not hesitate to buy another, or to pit it against just about any bolt gun for accuracy. My wife owns a Bushmaster A2, and my brother has a Colt H-Bar, and my RRA easily holds its own against them as well.

I am sold on RRA, my entire collection is RRA, I have shot or handled most of the other rifles and they are all great, I just do not see a step change in the difference...JMO

We are comparing Chevy to Ford to Dodge, to each his own, there are pros and cons of each....All I can say is my RRA's have never failed me, never jamed, never mis-fed, thousands of rounds thru them...

My 16" Varmint wil shoot 1 MOA all day long and I am not a good shot....

I just got a midlength upper half from them and it is very well finished. Fit is very tight to my DPMS lower and so far I like the upper a lot.

I will say that the gas key is very poorly staked and should be redone. This is true of many manufacturers, however.

I had a Smith and wesson MP15T, but it was an early one and had all kinds of issues, FTE, FTF, turns out the gas tube was completely loose.  Well I traded it in for a RRA LAR15 Entry Tactical and couldnt be happier.  Went to the range and 300 rounds without a hicup.  Very well put together and had an excellent shot group.  I am totally a RRA lover now.  ANd it accepts PMAG's.  Love it.

Elite CAR A4 owner here with no complaints or problems of any kind. Quality is just as good as the Colt I owned. Trigger is leaps and bounds better. Most of the posts on here rate RRA, Stag, S+W, etc all about the same as far as quality goes.

I recomend you stay away from RRA unless you like excellent accuracy, a crisp 4 pound trigger break, tight fitting recievers, and the ability to spec things like free floating handguards, barrel choice, etc. on the original order.... at a fair price.

I'm a little biased living 10 miles from Colona, IL. (and 10 miles from Milan, IL - Lewis Machine and Tool), but I have found that RRA is right up there with everyone else.  There are some nasty rumors out there right now (that RRA is so busy counting money that they aren't paying their suppliers, etc.), but the quality remains mil-spec and the DEA contract still has a few years left in it.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, and will probably be ordering - at least - a varmint upper sometime soon.

RRA is GTG.  So is just about every other brand name you recognize.  They all have some mass production quirks.  Not every rifle from any manufacturer is perfect.  Some have procedures that minimize the number of defects.  Some are small shops where every rifle is personally inspected by a really smart guy.

If you want a rifle that will work right out of the box, buy it from a qualified AR guy who can give it a good once-over to make sure everything is in order.

Try PK Firearms for RRA and ask him to inspect it for you.  There are only a few that are REALLY noticeably better than RRA, and they're a few hundos more.

Call Pete @ Legal Transfers. My second AR was a RRA from him and it is GREAT. He will tell you everything you need to know (even if is means that he loses the sell). You will not regret making the call.  Pete @ Legal Transfers

When I install a RRA upper to a RRA lower, I really enjoy it....front pin first, hammer back, generous amount of Mobil 1 grease on the back lug, rubber hammer with cloth pad and tap, tap, tap, until the fit is there....and they stay that way after many, many rounds, tight fit....

Like I said before, that is all I have in my collection....including 1911's...

If I were to deviate from RRA, I would more than likely go with a LMT or one of the outstanding JP's....I would like to get a HK416, but cannot find them
