hey guys im a new member to the site. 24 from louisiana and im in the market for an AR-15 preferably in .223, but have considered a larger caliber. that aside im trying to figure out what i want to buy. there are so many variants ive narrowed down to what i want it to have and can add the rest later. but i do want an out of the box set up. im afraid if i start building one it wont get finised before i run out of money. so while i got the $ ill get one that my wife and i can shoot and add toys later. things i know i want........ m4 style 16" barrel colapsible stock/ saw one that held batteries for the surefire lights i liked things ill add later..... light weight quad rail carbine handgaurd / yankee somthing industries makes one i liked but its outa stock ill add a red dot or scope later add a flashlight now to where i need yalls help. i know colt, armalite are really good brands what about rock river, olympic arms, ect. i dont mind payin more for quality but i dont like payin for a name. i want dependability accuracy and good customer service. who would you recomend? the dealer was really pushin RRA suggestions? thanks in advance |

All the brands you mentioned are good. The stock that holds the batteries could be a Vltor but more than likely you saw the stock that CAA makes. Good stock but I don't know of an out of the box set up that has that stock on it. Go buy any of the name brands you mentioned and you'll be happy. For the stock you can check CAA's web ink at the top of the forum topics. The AR pic threads will also give you some great ideas to. |

| thanks for the input. i looked at a rock river today had the quad forearm and colapsible stock already for $1175. good deal or no? i wondered about ordering one of there guns w/o the lower and buy that here local, any suggestions? i was trying to stay under $1000 but looks like that aint gonna happen!!! id really like to just get the box unit then add later when i can spend more. |
