If you are asking if the weapons shown in the picture are Mk18s, the answer is yes. If you look closely, you can even see the engraving on the right side of the magwell. |
I thought all boats had some rifles on board. Hmmmmm..... I would think those MK18 would be for Operators. |
we carry Mk18s (for the VBSS Teams), M16s w/ and w/o M203s, M9s, M500s, M14s.... just too name a few and that is just small arms not including the crew served weapons

yes we still do burials at sea. ETA: last time we did them we used M14s, maybe they didnt have seven of them or some other factor. and yes there are still some uses for the M14, mostly for the shot line (a small line shot from an adapter placed over the barrel and shot from one ship to another to start the process of hauling over the lines) during underway replenishment and the ocasional topside watchs in overseas ports. |
That's why I posted the pic...unusaul (I thought) to see Mk18s in anyones hands other than SF. No SBRs allowed in California |
nope, i carry them for VBSS.... but my Force Protection Officer just told me we are sending in out Mk18 uppers for M4 upper recievers very fun weapon to shoot indoors in a low light setting. the muzzel flash is VERY bright and i like the concusion feeling

It could be something as simple as having a huge allowance of 5.56 and scrimping by on the 7.62. After 19 yers, I've long ago given up on anything being "normal" in the Navy. Hell, in the past 4 years, I've had WAY more trigger time on AK's than AR's. |
