Hi, I am new to the AR world, and I am planning on building my first black rifle.  I am having a hard time deciding on what lower to purchase, and after looking at many manufactures I have narrowed it down to the POF 415 or the Anvil arms stripped lower.  Does anyone know if these lowers are reliable, consistent in fit-and-finish...etc?  I know there is a considerable price difference between the two, but is it worth it?  This is my first post, so I don't know if this is even gonna work, anyway, if someone could post back to these questions, I would really appreciate it.

Well the POF billet lowers are cool looking. But the Anvil Arms lower will work just as well and is a little cheaper. Both are good quality though and will work well.

Anvil Arms lowers are a notch above what I saw when I was looking for lowers... I decided to get a couple, and then bought one of their complete uppers, So in effect I have an Anvil Arms carbine that has been FLAWLESS in every respect.

I looked at the POF about a year ago thinking a "billet" lower would be better "yada-yada-yada" ... and I remember reading somewhere that a "forged" lower is actually stronger, don't remember the particulars though.

Buy the Anvil Arms and use the left over money to take yourself and someone else to dinner....

Just about any forged lower is good to go. Some are a little prettier then others, some have a Teflon finish applied over the typeIII HCA and there are some other small differences between them but in the end, they all work just as well as the next. Just get the cheapest one you can find or get the one that floats your boat the most depending on which criteria is more important to you

i see the Anvil arms lowers all the time at the Local gun shows.   they show up at all of them since they are just down the road in Lakeland.   The lowers look top notch, and the free laser engraving on the side is a plus.   some of the photo's they have of some they did are out right hillarious

I highly recommend RRA. Pete (Legal Transfers) has the best price I've seen.
Go here.

eta. I just noticed while posting the link his price went up a couple bucks. Darn.
