Ok i am a first time buyer of an AR-15, I will be shooting it this weekend and wanted to know what exactly do i need to clean, i have read that you should clean it before you fire the gun for the first time. I am not exaclty sure waht to clean and where to oil? Is there a tuturial with pictures showing what exactly needs to be cleaned and where to oil exactly? Does CLP work for everything or is it just a barrel cleaner? Thanks |

Go to www.AR15.com (the home page) On the left side look for "Downloads & Manuals'. Click on this. Scroll down and look for TM9-1005-319-10 M16A2 Operators Manual - click on it (You'll need to have Adobe Acrobat installed). In it you'll find complete instructions on how to clean & lube your new rifle (as well as alot of other handy information). Make sure once you open the file you save it to your harddisk or thumbdrive! |
