I want this front grip but also want to eventually mount a tape activated light.  Is there a recess for the tape on this?

I've read that this is the only half decent front grip out there.  The TD gets a lot of complaints as well as a CAA.

Any suggestions for me?

Thanks guys...

Matter of fact, I held one today.

There is no recess for a tape switch.

They seem like nice grips.

I do know of another good, solid grip.  The Dieter (Close Quarters Defense).  It has a tape switch recess.  I got mine from Rainier Arms.  I love it.  I don't think I'd trade it for any other VFG in existence.

LaRue Tactical just released their new grip.  They tend to make good stuff.

My only beef with the Bobro and Dieter grips is the fact that they are aluminum and can get quite warm if you shoot alot.

Put on gloves if you're shooting that much.

That is an option, but I'm not real keen on having a weapon that requires gloves.

LaRue Tactical FUG.   is gonna solve all the vertical grip complaints that shooters have.

It's an LT mount - SOLID.

It will fit any rail without the use of a hammer and zip ties.

Only the LT mount is aluminum, the grip is polymer.

It has the flat part for a tape switch.

Can be converted to three different lengths with the additional end caps that are included.

I don't like the Dieter for this reason.  However, the BOBRO grip is polymer, the mount is aluminum.
The grip doesn't get hot on full auto

The Bobro is made of Delrin

I dunno why I always thought it was made of some sort of metal materal, never bothered to look into what Delrin really was.  Color me dumb.

Question.  Does the BoBro grip come off by accident at all?  Watching a video of how it mounts and gets removed makes it look like any amount of twist on the bottom and it will fall off.  Is this the case?  I am considering purchasing the BoBro grip as well.  Thanks!

Mine has never come lose running drills . It would have to get real lose to come off anyway  and by that time I think you would notice it getting lose .

Mine is solid.  However, be sure to snug it down well.

That is an option, but I'm not real keen on having a weapon that requires gloves.

For most military it is SOP to wear gloves...just food for thought

I use a Dieter. I put over 200rds down range on a convoy live fire exercise, ruffly 15 minutes of shooting. so do the math, thats a pretty good sustainded rate of fire. after we were done i took my gloves off just to see how hot my grip was because i could tell that the KAC rails were toasty, the grip was just "warm".

again...just food for thought

My LaRue FUGs came in last week.  I mounted one, using the shortest bottom cap, on one of my SBRs and took it to the range.

My impression after an hour and a half of shooting, including shooting from multiple positions, shooting on the move, etc,, is that the FUG is the best VFG I've ever used.  It is very solid when mounted and exhibits no wobble or other looseness.  It is easy to mount and remove and it provides a good gripping surface.

I have used/owned VFGs from Tango Down, Borbo, SOG Armory and others.  I prefer the LaRue over them all... pass me some that LT kool-aid.

Never ripped a chunk of skin out doing immediate action or a mag change?

BTW, don't try to run an AK fast without gloves. They like to bite and sheet metal cuts good!

Mil SOP's are due to the fact that you can smoke a standard handguard with burst fire.

The only weapon systems I routinely run without gloves is my G21, G26, or my M700.
