I have a BM 14.5" upper with compensator "AWBan" type. I can't decide if I should keep it and have the comp switched out for a phantom FH or if I should sell it and use the money toward a new upper. What would Team AR15.com do? |

My game plan would be to find out how much the conversion would cost. Then find out what a new/used replacement would cost... and find out what I can sell mine for... then go with the cheapest option. If it's 100 bucks to have the work done, but only 50 bucks to buy/sell, then I'd buy/sell. |

Somewhere between $90-$125+new muzzle device+shipping there/back. Add another $50 dissasbembly/reassembly charge if you're going to send the entire upper. Alternately, you can cut the muzzle device off with a dremel. There are plenty of threads like this in the Build it Yourself section. That would save you about $50-$65 on the above charge. If you have the tools to dissasemble/reassemble your own upper, you save another $50 and some on shipping. I have barrel just like that, with a Mini Y comp. Shoots like a dream, so I'm leaving it alone until it's shot out. I'd rather put that ~$175 into ammo for a gun that shoots! Tom |
except using that money on ammo or mags. however, if you want to do that and it makes you happy that is all that matters. don't let the "interweb" decide for you. ![]() |
