Hi everybody, kinda new to the forum. I am looking to purchase my first ar15 m4 rifle this weekend. I have it narrowed down between Armalite, Bushmaster, and Stag Arms. I am going to get just the standard m4 with sliding stock and removable carry handle and standard front sight. If you could please help me between the three. Thanks!! |

here's another almost identical poll www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=369751&page=1 |

Stag and Bushmaster both make very nice rifles. Armalite, however is at the top of the crowded commercial market. They're all about the same with regards to parts quality, but both BM and Stag have assembly QC issues fairly frequently compared to Armalite. I have never seen a bad Armalite. I know they don't use the premium materials or do all the testing the top guys do, but they put 'em together right. Between dozens of makers in the middle of the pack right now, that's the biggest difference, and that's where Armalite shines. |
I have, at a gun shop a couple of months ago. Absolutely NO staking on the BCG key, and the whole thing looked like it was slapped together. I was really surprised; I expected much better based on what people here have said. In fact, that was the reason I put the Bushmaster on lawaway instead. |
| They can all be good rifles. The Stag is nice because it comes with a mil-spec buffer tube, which is stronger than a commercial tube and easier to upgrade to a tacticool stock. Since you've already decided on an M4gery, the benefit of Armalite's mid-length gas system is negated but would make it a "better" choice. You could save a little more $ and get an LMT or Colt rifle, though they're half again as much (and worth every penny IMO). Hopefully you can look at them in person and inspect the BCG after looking at the picture rich threads on arfcom and choose based on the carrier key stacking since this is where most rifles "fail." YMMV |

i say armalite or stag, they have been around for a long time. i just got an armalite ar10 and love it, i couldn't be more pleased with it. it is just a standard a4 with 20 inch std barrel and it consistently shoots sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards. my friend is left handed and bought a lefty ar15 from stag and he loves it and has not had any problems with it. i would stay away from bushy (just my opinion) ive heard they have had some QC issues. |
