Does anybody have this? Is it worth the extra money over the 512?? How big is it?? |
|
I personally like the extra dots on the reticle, but it does get a bit "busy" It's the same size/weight as the other AA battery model Eotechs, and you don't need a riser. Is it worth the extra money? depends on how much disposable income you have, and how often you shoot at range |

The extra range dots are indeed nice.. I didn't even realize the base models, 511/512 didn't have a way to adjust range -- or do they? I found this site which shows the Eotech models side by side: www.opticsplanet.net/eotech-holographic-weapon-sights.html But I'll be damned if I still can't figure out the differences and whether it is worth spending more!! Some of the stuff like a smaller MOA after reset is not worth the money - 1" MOA is still 1" and you'd likely want to zero it in again regardless, so paying more for 1" MOA reset vs. the 2" MOA is not a differentiator in my book.. The NV stuff is nice, and that is one of the key differences -- subsmersion depths is another, but who is taking their weapon 10+ feet underwater??? A Navy Seal perhaps, but not many of us.. Hopefully some more folks can chime in on this with real-world experience.. My birthday is coming up and I need to know which Eotech model information to print out and accidentally leave on my wife's keyboard.. |
