Is it worth it for a 20" with A2 stock?  Never used one, only standard buffers.

i have one in my 24 varmint rifle. I like it. the recoil impulse feels very different, in a good way. It seems softer and it works well. No hickups, hoever I have not tested it in a torture manor yet.

I have an Enidine hydraulic buffer on two of my AR's and am very happy with them.  It's very effective at reducing the already mild recoil to almost nothing.  I read somewhere (don't remember where) that the Enidine buffers are the best-some of the others collapse too soon or leak.  hth

What happens if an O-ring breaks in a hydraulic buffer? Does the gun stop functioning?

I have an Enidine in my M4 - love it. Makes the recoil impulse almost non existent and makes rapid follow up shots very easy .. best of all it itakes out that "sproiing" noise in the tube when the gun fires.

Enidine is on of the worlds leading manuf. of
industrial/ miitary hydraulic components.. I know they tested the carbine version for well over 1 million rounds..  and knowing Enidine - if you could break it they would prob replace it
