My buddy is holding a Colt barrel SPR with LaRue gas block for me. I need a nice rail that mates up flush with the upper. I know DD and LaRue rails have the big ring against the receiver but I was looking for a rail that offers continuous surface from upper to forearm. Suggestions?

Troy or Samson.

Daniel Defense's "lite" rails do exactly what you are looking for....Since your in Ohio, check ADCO firearms web site and you can see the set up exactly.

+1 for the DD Lite Rails. Very high quality as well. You can also get the PRI FF tube and use the ARMS PEQ rail as used in the SPR Mk12 MOD0 rifle.

ETA: SWS rails also provide for a continuous top rail. I currently use a mid length SWS rail on my SBR. It is a high quality rail and is in use by Noveske, a very reputable barrel maker/AR builder.

SWS make a very nice rail for this purpose.  My favorite (besides LMT MRP rails).  I really like mine.  You can bridge the "gap" w/ a scope and not worry about it.

I wouldn't mount a scope with one clamp on the receiver and the other on the handguard, or any part of the mount touching the handguard, even if others have done so without apparent problems, unless it's an LMT MRP or Vltor's VIS.

I have DD's 14.0 Lite Rail and SWS's handguard for my AR10s, the "continuous rail" handguards do render a few more rails where the void for the handguard nut would have been, but I can't think of any use for these extra rails there.

DD Lite Rail 14.0

Dont forget PRI...they started all this...PRI

Check out the carbon fiber fore-end.  You can get two different top rails, the ARMS one or PRI's Rifle Rail.

It's definitely going to be my next rail, hopefully I can get a flip sight/gas block too.
