Well finally got my new DPMS Panther Lite 16" A3 (with detachable carry handle) to my favorite shooting spot today...I am happy to report that the DPMS was flawless during the 200 round session!

I got it sighted in just a few rounds and soon realized that when I did my part, it was damn accurate!  Ammo used was Remington green box from Walmart.  The first 50 rounds were shot slow from a sandbag rest, then the fun began for the remainder- shooting as fast as I could find the front sight, slower fire standing, prone, and even sitting.  Never once did I experience a problem!!!

Well I admit I did have one problem...after the last round was fired I was out of ammo!  Need to remedy that this week, along with ordering more mags-

So here's to DPMS for giving me a fun filled day and a huge smile on my face for my first AR-15 experience! Here
Thanks for listening and for all the info. and support AR15.com provides http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/8048/dsc00723vp0.jpg

"DPMS flawless"
Now wait a minute, how can that be possible.  The upper and lower aren't supposed to fit together so How did you shoot it?  Then after you make major modifications to make it go together, then the gas block comes off just before the bolt breaks in half on the first magazine.

Isn't that how all DPMS rifles are.???  I'm assuming it was a typo and you meant COLT instead of DPMS.

Only kidding of course,  I've had the same good experience with 3 DPMS rifles.
No problems and lots of fun.

You will have similar experiences with just about every brand these days.

I used to stay away from "kits" but I think my next rifle may be a j&t kit.

I really like my DPMS upper, although I had to get rid of my DPMS chrome bolt.  I heard that some were manufactured out of spec.  Guess that was the problem.  Replaced that bolt and it runs nice, and is accurate, too.

It was Paula's first time shooting an AR.  Her grin was even bigger than mine! She thought those rifles recoiled a lot...
